Brand names

Hey guys. I'm a newbie with an 8g GTZ looking to do some performance upgrades and I have a few questions. I know that I want to upgrade the exhaust system, get a computer (whether it's an apex flow or boost controller depends on whether or not I get a turbo), Intake (whether it be CAI or some other induction system or turbo), upgrade the ingnition system, and upgrade the braking system.

My question is this: what are the different options out there? Specificalyl, the brand names and what each one brings to the table. I would love to know, also, what mods and parts that are beign billed as eclipse only can fit my 2001 GTZ. Thanks guys!! Any help you could provide would be much appreciated!

First off, I would like to say you are not the first to ask that question, with that in mind please do a search of the boards for what you are looking for. We have very long and detailed talks about every aspect of the Galant. After you have read up on all the topics about your car if you still have questions you will find the old timers here will be more than happy to answer you specific questions in detail. This kind of post usually yields very general answers if any at all.

Congrats on your purchace of an 8G GTZ (I love my 01' GTZ) and enjoy the boards!

AEM & Injen make a CAI...
No exhausts... more or less need to do a custom job with a unlversal muffler...
Eibach / Intrax / Progress / HR make a spring set...
KYB makes front struts...
Tokico / KYB make rear shocks...

Dude, that is an AWESOME list. Will you be my mother? J/K. But, hey, that brings up a great newbie question. Most of those mods are designed for 3g Eclipses. Will those work for the 8g galant? Even if the Engine compartment is different? That has been my biggest question. If there was a list of what mods worked for the 3g Eclipse v6 and the 8g, where could I find it? The front page of TGC isn't working too well so if it is there I am not able to access it. Would that be something that I would need to compile from the different forums?

Also, as an aside, what are the pros/cons for going turbo or a NA solution? Which one would you guys do?
