are you sure that the whole ac system has crapped out? it could just be the blower. the blower of mine blew out at 33k.

Sup! I've been having problems with my A/C also. Sometimes when I turn on the car the A/C doesn't go on, neither does the radio. If I shut the car off and them turn it on again it works. I don't know... my 8g just turned a year old last Sunday, but I put 28,000 miles on it already. Something's up... I just don't know what it is yet.

there are no recalls on the ac system.

there are a bunch of yearly updates, though. the first being that they eliminated the cabin filter on 2001 and newer cars, because no one ever changed the damn thing, which would cause the ac to loose about 30 percent of its performance!
the second is the addition of 2 fans to all the radiators on the newer cars, and the third is the addition of a water shut off valve on the heater core for 2002 and newer galants.
however, even without all this, your ac should work ok. if it doesnt, you probably sprung a refridgerant leak somewhere, which will need to be fixed.
