Hey guys, I'd like to know about your V6. What's the engine code, is it SOHC or DOHC, do you guys have a good aftermarket for it, etc. And do you guys all have some pics? Thanks guys.

our v6 is the 6g72. its a SOHC model. 3.0L v6.

as for the aftermarket, its decent. you won't see many of our aftermarket parts sitting on the self of pep boys but they do exist. since the stratus and the eclipse both use the same motor, it gives us a ebtter chance of getting products made.

here goes some pics.

No shit? Ours too. Where'd they stuff 24 valves into the SOHC? Diamante SOHC's only have 12 valves. Awesome...

It's not that hard to pack 4 valves per cylinder...most engines I've seen use this design. Audi goes crazy and uses 5 valves per cylinder.

I always wondered where the other 3 spark plugs are. Its hidden in the back so how do I change it if I want to

In order to change the rear plugs you need to remove the intake plenum. This is an easy 90 minutes or more depending on your confidence level. That's why the shops charge so high for it. We have a tutorial on the site for removing and replacing the plenum.

Draggin, yea we do have a fair amount of aftermarket support on the motor. Luckily it's shared by the Eclipse, so that helps, in that we can share parts with them.
