Front Strut Bar/Brace (how to tighten?)

I've read that some people say not to over tighten the bolts. I hand tighten mine but my brace still has some play. Is the brace supposed to be a little springy (little play) or hard as a rock (no play)?

What is the best way to tighten/configure your front strut brace?

I tightened mine by hand the first time until I couldn't tighten anymore, as I did not have a torque wrench. The folks changing out my suspension use impact wrenches. If I can find the torque specifications I'll post them if no one beats me to it.

Mike,

It shouldn't have any play in it at all. Mount it to the strut tower first, then tighten the bolts on the bar itself until they're tight. This should remove any excess play in the bar. Before you mount it to the tower, make sure the adjusting bolts on the bar are fairly close to even on both sides, so the bar is centered. Once it's tight, you should feel an immediate improvement in your handling performance.

Vio thats a damn good question. Where the hell is your MAS air flow sensor? back 2 the subject, when i got mine i hand tighented it then i just just a torque wrench to tighten it back down.

i know this is off topic but are there any advantages to relocating your mas when you have a cai?

when you relocate the MAs down there near the filter, your are making your MAS more suseptable to damage. from like water, road debris and stuff like that. its better to have it up higher. also with that setup, you won't be able to use a bypass valve. cuz even if you put the bypass valve higher and your intake pipe does fill up with water and causes that vacuum, your car would still probably stop since the MAS would be submerged in water
