If you are from Europe, then look here www.coltco.nl ('http://www.coltco.nl')
If you are from USA, I think there are many dealers that can get you a used JDM engine with low miles, or even a front half-cut...
Go to www.galantvr4.org ('http://www.galantvr4.org') and check the "For sale" forum... I think I saw one for sale there not so long ago.
You can try e-bay too...

Good luck

well, just the engine does you no good. you need the wiring harness and the ecu to make it work. IF the transmission bolts up, it wont hold the power. for example, a few of the vr4 owners have the 2wd/4wd switchable trans/xfer in their car, and they all say in the 2wd mode, the car has wicked torque steer, and it breaks the tires loose in the first 3 gears. driving on a wet road is a nightmare. depending on where you live, emissions might also be a problem, especially egr. and dont forget the fuel pump and exhaust. the overall weight of the engine is more, too, so you will need to upgrade the front suspension.
