Hi all
Could someone explain to me the specs availible in the US model Galant? What engines were availible and what trans options did you get? Over here we got the 2.0 16V 4 cyl a 2.4GDI 4 cyl and the 2.5 V6-24V (which i have). Did you get the fully automatic climate control with the small screen in the dash or just manual aircon? Any info would be appreciated!

We have the manual cable controlled air conditioning control. In its current generation (the 96 and onwards model) we have the choice of a 2.4L inline 4 cylinder 16 valve single overhead cam engine rated at 140-145 horsepower 155 ft lbs of torque, and a 3.0L 2972cc V6 24 valve single overhead cam engine rated at 190-195 horsepower 205 ft lbs of torque.

Okay , thanx for the info. My V6 is 2.5 litres and is rated at 161 PS , and my car has the Auto climate. I didnt think there would be as many differences in the specs as this , thought ud get the 2.0 4 cyl and the 2.5 V6 as well!

Yeah we get 5 speed manual on all models apart from the VR4 , they are all tiptronic Invecs II autos.Non-tiptronic auto is of course an option on all other models , at a price premium of around £1000. PS is an abbreviation of the German word for horsepower , and is used as a standard European unit of power measuring (ie 200 PS is approx 197 UK BHP)
