Can I replace my head gasket with a turbo eclipse head gasket? It is $20 cheaper at O'Reilly's. And I assume it is thicker?
Pulling the head off the engine was easier than I thought, under four hours. Go me!!!

only if you have a 94 gs, a 4g63t, or a 4g63 head on your car
our cars are sohc, the 4g63ts are dohc

He can be turbo all he wants, if he has a SOHC head, he can only use the SOHC gasket.

my bad, I am confusing myself there. I am 4g64t right now, but when I put the gs head on this engine, then I can use the eclipse gasket.
I don't know where I was thinking I could use a DOHC gasket on a SOHC head.
Thanks for reminding me.
Anybody know why the 4g64 gasket costs more than the 4g63t?

The only reason I can think of as to why it's more expensive is the higher compression ratio it needs to handle.
Could be wrong tho
