If it's the OEM eclipse strut bar, Like I suspect, it fits fine, but it won't bolt up to the firewall. That's not really a problem. It's just that the galant has more space betweent the strut tower and the firewall than the Eclipse. Several people here have the same bar and have been using it for a while with no problems.

umm is it an adjustable bar or a 1 piece? if the logo is facing the wrong way you might have put it on backwards. as for the moving, you just need to tighten it down and tight the brace (if it's adjustable). it would help if you told us what kind (brand) of bar it is since there are different versions available.

It looks almost exactly like the Freedom Design one. First, like Reelax said, you've got it on backwards. the logo should be readable from, the front. They probably bolted it backwards for shipping. just remove the ends from the bar and switch it around. Then when you mount it, put the tower ends (the round things) on first and tighten them down. Watch the torque on the strut bolts, or you will snap them off. Then put the bar on and adjust the screw ends until the bar itself is relatively centered between the struts. Then tighten the lock nuts until they pull the bar stiff. When it's tight enough, it should have no lateral movement, nor should it have any orbital movement, meaning you cant turn the bar. That should be all there is to it.

Yeah, my VIBRANT strut bar was shipped with the bar backwards.

I recommend taking it all apart, placing the brackets on the strut towers first, then putting on the bar.
