UPS came by and rang the doorbell, had me all excited thinking it was the headers. I don't think I have ever gotten up so quickly, not even when the drill instructors woke us up https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif Anyhow...ended up breaking my stock chrome molding clips but it's ok, not planning on reusing it anyway. Took me a good while to get the Galant emblem all good and centered on the molding cause my paranoid head kept thinking it was not right...almost wanted to go shaved but the final result makes me glad I put the word Galant on it. Color keyed molding with the word Galant that actually stands out now and is readable plus the JDM tails look REALLY tight. I would have gotten color keyed grille but it's too expensive and I still haven't figured out how to remove and install grilles. My digital camera still hasn't come in yet at CompUSA but when it does, I'm posting pics. Oh yeah...a friendly member of my local law enforcement only gave me a citation today for my turn signal...it was too close to white but had a tinge of yellow so he escorted me to Pep Boys to get amber turn signals...nice guy.

Hey did you use any glue or just the original adhesive to put the galant letters back on the molding?

I would say original adhesive but I didn't reuse my old lettering. I spent the extra 13 bucks and bought a new set, it comes pre-spaced and straight that way. Only thing I had to worry about was it being crook-ed.

Hey Rallifan, can you post some pictures? I've been wanting to get rid of the chrome Galant molding on the trunk as well. Did you buy a new molding or paint the old one?

Take a look at any 2002 model Galants, I believe they came with body colored. I bought OEM.

i suggest getting new adhesive. you run a risk of the emblems falling off with the origninal...

Hmmm I never did think about that one, though personally I prefer as little chrome as possible. Window trim and exhaust tips may look nice in chrome but other than that I want color keyed. What I almost ended up doing though after looking at a few BMW tails was buying a black/greyish DE molding, but decided on silver in the end.

Hmm...I dunno. The letters are chrome, so you might need a way to prime it...wonder if you can scratch or sand the chrome off the letters...I don't know if you should just paint over the chrome finish since last time I tried it on chrome the paint had a tendency to come right back off.
