I used to mistake the kia optima for a galant from the back and sides. A friend of mine did the same thing just the other day. Do they share chassis or engine? has anyone else seen the similarities, and i do mean real close in the back end.

IT LOOKS AS IF KIA FUSED TOGETHER A 7G AND AN 8G ........AND THIS IS WHAT THEY CAME UP WITH! https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif

koreans companies are notorious for "paraphrasing" other companies designs.

Can you blame them? Afterall, when I bought my ride, back in 99, I said the same thing about Mitsubishi. I said the boys down in the design department were gulity of "copying" off those German boys' paper too. https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif We all know we love the looks of our cars due to they give you the appearence of a Beamer minus about $15k. (enough cash leftover to do some serious mods)

sure. i wasn't making a judgement for or against this practice. just stating that koream companies do this and that is why their cars have certain design elements that are "reminiscent" of other well known makers.

My parents have an '02 Optima SE V6. It doesn't share any parts with the Galant but I wish my '00 Galant ES had as many features as their Optima. https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif

It is far better to copy a good design and make it fairly presentable than to come up with highly original fugly looking cars https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif
