Hi all,

I have a 1994 HJ (JDM) - can anyone tell me where exactly in the engine bay I can change my resting revs? At the moment, it's revving a bit too high...

Thanks in advance!

BB.

well, i have a 94ES USDM, and ur car looks completely different. but on my car, at the throttle body, the spring loaded wheel that opens the throttle has a screw that you adjust to very very slightly open or close the TB.

black beauty i was told that the idle of the HJ is auto... there's a screw just after the black hose that connects to the throttle body... but a mechanic told me that its only for air flow...

Hi Naughtika https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif

Since peanotation's reply, I've actually gone and tried it.

The screw on the throttle does in fact adjust the idle....I've done it. However, there may be some default settings for idle also....

Okay, just an update:

I've been fiddling with it and on a number of ocassions found the 'optimal' level to have the idle tuned to.

One problem - it keeps losing the tuning! https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif

After driving it around for a day or two, it all goes back to normal and starts running like a slug again. It's like the screw keeps coming loose or something?

Also, when the revs drop below 2000rpm and i'm braking it tends to 'chug' - like a manual does when it's in the wrong gear (when the current gear is too high).

Any ideas?
