what is the best? i have been doing some research, and every place i go to say theirs is the best. I heard that slotted and cross-drilled are less reliable because of the less metal. true?

not true. having them cross drilled and slotted lets the heat dissapate more and they dont fade as easy, removing the smaaaaall amount of metal that the cross drilling and slotting requires would make almost no difference, definatly a difference you wouldn't be able to tell.

Yea and we get a good price on Brembos from http://www.raceconcepts.net ('http://www.raceconcepts.net') Ignore the prices on the web page. Call them and ask to speak to Wood. Tell him you're from TGC. I got all four rotors and pads for under $300 shipped.

Mine are slotted and dimpled, which removes less metal than cross drilled if that's a concern.

nice, thanks i will do that

If you're referring to the cross-drilled being less reliable because of integrity problems, I think many modern manufacturers have remedied this.

Here's the prices that Wood gave us for rotors and pads:

90-03 galant I4 $90.00 front pair
90-94 galant I4 $90.00 rear pair
95-03 galant I4 $80.00 rear pair
90-92 galant VR4 $95.00 per pair
99-03 galant V6 $100.00 front pair
99-03 galant V6 $90.00 rear pair

90-03 I4 pads $40.00 front, $35.00 rear

slotted and cross drilled rotors ARE less reliable and less powerful than a standard rotor.
they do not relieve heat faster. actually, they do the opposite. they also have about 10 percent less surface area to stop with.
that is why you will NEVER see a real race car with slotted rotors.

they are 100 percent cosmetic.

yea very true, I have always heard that crossdrilled did aid in decreasing Brake fade, also good at rotors surface cool. Oh yea some race crews do swear by slotted rotors as with the bmw team on the Lemans circuit. Pics were taken from the Lemans in DC last aprilhttp://www.wam.umd.edu/~hillbj/bmwcaliper.jpg

Which is easily remedied with a call to RRE. Damn good prices...wish I had jumped on it sooner.

that completely contradicts the previous paragraph..... i know manybrews is the mechanic here, but when i put my cross drilled/slotted rotors on my car, i noticed a difference RIGHT away, and as they broke in over the next week or so, they got better. i can stop A LOT quicker and they dont fade as easy when i'm "blazing" through the twisties. i can just slam on them and the car just stops, knowing how much pressure to apply to avoid locking the wheels is the trick though. since they stop better, the tires lock quicker.

I personally like the look of Cross Drilled/Slotted rotors. I got my Brembo set for 190.00 as well. Then I paid another 35.00 to have all four zinc plated. As for the pads....I couldn't go with anything other than greenstuff by EBC. Got all four rotors and pads shipped for a little under 400.

Yeah, the raceconcepts brembo's are very nice! I have the slotted/dimpled and they look great, feel great, and were probably cheaper than OEM...300 for all pads and rotors is a very nice price. It is also very easy to install, and should only take an hour or so to do....

Theres really no comparison Brembo is the way to go. There technology is even used on my R1 so without a doubt I can trust them to keep me safe on four wheels.

Can you really put a price tag on what keeps you from slamming into something? If you can then you should sell your car for a bus pass.
