in my es14 i didnt get a sunroof, but i always wanted one on my car. someone posted a link to http://www.classicsofttrim.com/ ('http://www.classicsofttrim.com/') and i saw that they install sunroofs, but they dont have any prices. whats an OEM sunroof look like? glass correct? i am thinkin about gettin a powered glass one with internal sliding sunshade. anyone have any ideas where i can get this done and for how much if not from the site above?

i have an es i4 and had the sun roof install bythe dealer when i bought the car. i had the option of the internal sliding sunroof or the one that slide up on top of the car. i choose the internal sliding one which cost me around 500 bucks. the sun shade will slide back with the sunroof but you have to close it manually. it also has a "vent" mode. as far as the glass it is tinted like 20%. i've had it for 2 yrs and have had no leaks or anything. ive heard with some after market sunroofs that they will leak make sure you check out the shops work before you let them install ur sunroof

many aftermarket sunroofs will leak. make sure that the installer is good and that u have some kind of warranty on that thing. the last thing u want is a leak or the thing to stop working. punching a hole in ur roof is crucial

wow its that cheap to get a sunroof put in? i thought it would be like a grand or so id prolly take it to the dealer to get it done just so if something went wrong or if it started to leak they will usual help you out with it wow might have to realy look into this i never knew it was that cheap!

would the dealer most likely provide some kinda warrenty when they install? just to get an idea..what do u guysthink look better..the kind of sunroof that goes into the roof..or the one that goes out and over the roof when open? u think the deal would only provide installation for the OEM style?

if u go to a dealer u are looking at about a $1000 at lest. i said i have a friend that will make u a sunroof for about $200 might be a little more. it's not power sunroof it's manual. and he is not in san francisco he is located in Oakland. let me know if u want to do it and i will hook u up.

the dealer would offer u some kind of warranty. but i'd look on the net and the phonebook too for some local places that do sunroofs too. they might be cheaper and might offer a warranty and product comparable to the dealers...

Hey, since I didnt get a choice on all the features of my 01 es, i was pretty bummed that I didnt get a sunroof. I do have around 300 bucks to spend on a sunroof (of course I wish i had decided to do this before summer started). I live in the boston area, can anyone recomend somewhere I could go to get this done for around 300 bucks? Thanks,

james
