Keyless entry remote

I bought a 2001 Galant but back when I bought it the dealer never gave me the keyless entry remote. I bought the car in Atlanta but now I live in Chicago. The dealer here wants to charge me $100 per remote!! Is this price correct or can I find a remote on ebay and have the dealer program it for me. The dealer said they will program a remote for free.

you can buy a remote on ebay for fairly cheap. but make sure its the right remote for your car since many look the same on the outside but on the inside there are slight differences.

if that doesn't work. my suggestion, for a few dollars extra, invest in an alarm. many alarms out on the market include keyless entry. and for those few extra dollars, you can have a slighter better security advantage to your car. my alarm has keyless entry and i love it. arm the system, door locks. dis arm the system, the doors unlock.
