back pressure

Awhile ago my catalytic converter went bad and now it just makes a rattleing niose. i wanted to just take it out becuase i dont wanna have to pay for a new one right now. but everyone i talked to said there would be no backpressure and i couldnt do it. if anyone knows about this let me know cuase its an annoying sound and i wanna get rid of it.

Is the noise coming from inside the CAT or somewhere near the CAT? It could be a couple of things causing that noise from something loose inside (Duh!) or as simple as the rubber boot around the hook on the exhaust is worn out and the hook is rubbin against something. If its something inside the cat then I would suggest to replace it before further damage is possibly done and to not deal with that rattling noise. Try a local junkyard or surf the net for any used cat converters.[/url]
