Not strange at all. The 1157 bulb is a dual filament bulb. The two filaments share a common ground wire, but each fialment has it's own power wire. One lights up for the turn signal, the other lights up for the parking light. You probably have a blown parking light filment. Replace the bulb. You can check the wiring and make sure it's OK, but if you didn't do anything it should be fine. You may also have a contact pushed down too far in the socket. Use a tiny screwdriver to pry them up. But most likely it's just a bulb. Very common failure.

another thing you might want to do is switch the bulbs from left and right. if the problem moves around, then the bulb is the problem. if the problem stays, then it has something to do with the socket and/or the wiring. remove the bulb and look at the contacts. make sure they are still good. meaning they aren't corroded away. while ur down there, you might want to put some bulb grease and like chip said, slightly lift the contact out so that they can get better contact. also check out the wiring. make sure its still connected to teh socket, the wire isn't cut or frayed.
