View Full Version : Stuck in second, In auto fail safe mode HELP please.

Hello, I have a 94 galant ls. My brother just got done rebuilding the head for me. It runs great but now I am having problems with the trans. Its not shifting rough, no weird noises, it just will not get out of second gear. Any suggestions?We have checked, drained, changed the fluids, and all the other standard procedures.This mama needs her wheels back on the road pronto. Thanks

you need to pull the trouble codes out of the TCM and see what it thinks is wrong.
if your in failsafe (which is actually 3rd gear), the trans has seen some type of failure.

go to the dealer and have them reset the tranny thats what they did on mine.

That is correct. Failure either in the tranny or the TCM itself. Just hope its not the TCM...its $$$$
