i bought a pair of used audi A6 hid ballasts and bulbs and put it in my projector headlights. i will take pics tonight. the result is excellent. very bright! no more need for fogs (as i used to always have them on at night), except in foggy situations. The color is white on the ground, but at the cutoff level it's blue/purple. just like on audi's. very nice. the bulbs are regular philips 4100k. the blue color comes from the optics of the projectors, not the bulbs.

i got the ballast and bulbs from a local guy who sells headlights on ebay. i havent asked him where he gets his stuff, probably junkyards, bodyshops, and NJ (stolen audi capital of the world). I got them cheap so I am not complaining.

That's what I've always wondered...how come OEM HIDs are blue in the housing but are still able to maintain a white/yellow/greenish color on the ground, projector and non-projector.

the pics are bad, very blurry. i need to play with the camera settings. but i dont wanna spend too much time outside. damn west nile virus is in our area. but its fu(king bright! at the cutoff you'll notice a bluish band. i need to make adjustments to the driver side projector since the cutoff isn't exactly horizontal.
