O/D Problem.....HELP!

:evil: I have a 91 Galant SOHC 2.0L AUTO
Here's the situation....
-"O/D OFF".....it stays in 3rd gear (til now it's ok)
-"O/D ON"......it goes like 1st, 2nd, 3rd and NEUTRAL!!!!!(No 4th???)

Can somebody help me please I really don't know what it can be....

either just drive that with O/D off or you can replace the end clutch which is a $400 labor and parts job from the dealer. if they want to replace the tranny, say no but just the end clutch. bring it to other aftermarket tranny shop and you are looking at 3K$ for the tranny alone. cost effective repair($400?) yes but with a caveat, it may or may not work. I did that with my galant at 90,000 miles and now with 201,000 miles it is still working. the dealer service does not have a clue so have them do the end clutch repair.
