tranny flush??

got an 02 es i4 with 38,000 on it. just wondering when shoud i have the tranny fushed. bought the car used so have no idea when or if it has ever been done.

every 30k is a good interval.

if you are unaware of it being done. check the mitsu dealer, they might have record of it.

but yea other times you should change it is if its really dirty (should be pinkish reddish), if it smells burnt or something, when u are overhauling your tranny, if the wrong fluid is in there, and uhm to help diagnose a tranny that is sick.

as for fluid, i recommend to use only the fluid from the dealer. its specially formulated for our cars. other fluids will still work but won't work as well as the stuff the dealer sells.
