i ran a 16.7 at the track, whats every one runnin?

i went to the track up in rising sun, MD, forgot the name, but i ran a 16.7. i was a lil upset cuz i used to have a grand am that ran 15.5, its not hat fast but fast than my galant's time. i gotta 8 g galant all stock. i flipped the air box, did the throttle body mod, when u tighten up the throttle cable, i put a k&n filter in my flipped box and did the mass air flow sensor mod. i really like my galant n im think bout hookin it up but the auto trans sux n im sick of gettin beat off the line. is anybody runnin 14's?

A few people in the 14s, can't say who they all are. But they have turbos, NOS, or Superchargers, or like Shane (Aka Headache) even more drastic.

Me personally i ran 17.7@76mph at 70-75 degrees (air temp.) with Intake and Exhaust. I run a 4cyl 8G.

Getting beat off the line? Mine shit is first off the line when racing a manuel then they hit 2nd or 3rd gear then pass me :cry:

i ran a 17.8 @ 85 last month. (stock i4)

racing from a rolling start (around 40mph) is great in our cars. my boy has a gmc sanoma wich is v6 4.3 liter 190 hp and off the line he will take me but rolling i get him by about a car length everytime and it stays like that. https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif

yeah i dont really get beat off the line but im sick of seein people pass me i the race. if im riding down the highway and start racin my car smokes them, but off the line it aint bout shit

My average passes were 15.8 @ 97mph. At the time my 8g had custom intake, straight pipe opened to 2.5" to an Apexi RS muffler, TB mod, and the one and only NOS. lol I really just put it in to fuck around for the day, nd ripped it out afterwards. I knew I would blow something up sooner or later :wink:

What # shot were you running?

To be honest I have no idea. When I installed the system it had never been tested on a G, so I can only assume it was somewhere between 25-100. But if I had to take a guess I would say around 50.

I dipped into the 14s only once, and that was with a 75 jet for my nitrous spray. My best non-assisted time was just like yours, in the 16s. I don't ever recall seeing any Fed spec times though.

Yes. We have at least 2 V6 Galants that have used Rippmods's SDS.

Ive done a 11.9 with boost and spray and race gas, but that was like one of the passes that you can never duplicate again.. all motor my car runs mid 14's.. then just off spray i can do low 13's.. All track times are with either nitto 555rs race slicks up front or a set of mikey thompsons..

whats the mas mair flow sensor mod??

Best that I know my car has done was when I raced a 5.3L silverado that does mid -high 15's and I held 1-2 cars on him. I would say that mine is high 15's but that is a guess...

the mas mod is when u remove the mass air flow sensor and screw the bottom screw out until its flush to lean out the air and fuel mixture. the factory mixture is too rich and this mod will give u a lil acceleration

Are you running FMIC yet? I just picked up Blitz FM a couple days ago to finish after my project. And if you are is it the direct methanol spray up front?
