On e-bay I am seeing leather seat covers for $400. Has anyone used these? How are they to install and are they any good?

I saw the auction that you are talking about in Grey.
I already purchased the same kit in Tan to replace the worn out driver seat.
It will require the skills of an uphosltry worker, but it is real leather and the guy selling it will provide all the instructions, and fasteners to do the job yourself.

I have a slight difference from the color on my door panels which are draped in either Leather or Vinyl but it feels great.

Did you do the install yourself? How difficult was it?

No I did not.
I saw the original leather/vinyl covers on my seat were sewn in directly to the cushions so removing them would be a task in itself.

You also need some type of special crimper for those fasteners.
They look like huge staples.

I wouldn't pay more than $200 to put it on.
Here in NYC most places charge $50 per seat for a total of $150 - 200

Hope that helps https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif

I image that the install is similar to that of the Katzkin seat covers. A tutorial is posted here ('http://clubtgc.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10459') This can save you a couple hundred if you decide to do it yourself. It isn't too difficult. It is just very time consuming. The front seats are by far the easiest.
