I need a complete turbo list because I'm beginning to go to junk yards to look for parts. I'm doing it the "cheap" way and I need to know exactly what I need to get for my 4g64!!! Plus there is a vr-4 galant in a junkyard and I was wondering if there is anything I could get off of it to use..such as the turbo..injectors..etc

Thanks!!!

the only way my turbo will fit in your car is if u take the turbo buy it from the junk yard for 200$ and add about another $2500 for lots and lots and lots of custom work...

So the 98-99 GST's have the best set ups for our cars??? What about a list of parts we need for the turbo. Not just datalogger, Safc...I mean actually pieces we would need for a complete kit. Thanks

str8 up, i'd do more research b4 starting anything. they way u are looking, u don't know your shit, or at least enough shit to get your car running with a turbo. do some more research. talk to a couple of mechanics find places to get parts, premade and custom work. hopefully local. the last thing u want to do is get halfway into the turbo install and you stop cuz u don't know what to do next. you dont' want to get into something u can't handle.

I think this is the post which talks about nightmares of turbo-ing your car... maybe a good place to start reading. I personally don't know all the fine details of it and would probably take it to a speed shop if I was serious about getting one...

Good Luck with it https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif

Find a reputable shop to teach, show, or otherwise educate you on what things involved with a successful turbo install. Its not a easy thing just to throw on with a few custom pipes as the above linked thread shows you.

Again, Most importantly is finding a good shop that won't rip you off.

I think i have a list of things you'd need, but it just a guess, it may be missing things. Call one of the companies that sells turbos for 3g Eclipses.

www.xtecheng.com
www.ddynopower.com
www.rippmods.com (These guys sell SuperCharger Kits for the V6 and are prototyping the I4)

Or check out Club 3G for more info www.eclipseforums.org

Thanks guys. Your right I don't really know that much about turboing a car lol. But I have a shop in mind that might help. But all the local shops around here suck and don't want to help anyone out with anything. They want you to come in knowing what you want or they look at you like your a dumba$s. So hopefully I can successfully do this, its gonna take a lot of time though...But the payoff should be worth it

You should contact AK1. Look here on his shops website: www.HorsePowerHouse.com

They custom installed his turbo setup, if anyone can help you out with what you need they can.

Don't forget to check out www.Eclipseforums.org they have plenty of info and vendors to help you out.

Check here for availible vendors who sell 3G Eclipse I4 turbo kits: www.NewEclipse.org look in the parts section under Forced Induction.

My first post in the 8g forums, crazy https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif

Anywayz, first of all bro you need to check this FAQ out and get an idea of what your getting yourself into:
http://www.tgc-forums.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1279 ('http://www.tgc-forums.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1279')

I hope I haven't scared you away yet because that FAQ isn't even for the 4G64, it's just an example.
For the '64 your gonna want to possibly look into a lower compression rate, reinforcing internal components, reinforced tranny (maybe a different one completely), ignition, etc. There's a lot of stuff and I am at no means an expert, this is just what I have learned from a few 7g homies that have gone turbo. Most of them went for the full 4g63T swap, but that's another story  ( I can give you some names if you PM me)

I gaurantee you that if you take an 8g GALANT to them and say " I wanna go turbo!" .... They will feel like the dumbass'. https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif
