I have been thinking of adding HUD in the future. I saw a posting about it a few months ago, but can't find it anymore.

Is there a company that makes HUDs to fit well in Galants? Or can I use the GM components somehow.

I would like to do this, but don't want an "added-on look."

There is no ready made HUD system for the galant... You'll have the get the GM counterpart and intall that into the car. The problem is finding all the componets you need(and at a reasonable price!):

Projector, wiring harness, switches, and the dash overlay that covers the HUD.

you'll also need the wiring diagrams of the hud and for the galant to know which wire goes where.

I've been trying to do this mod my self and the original post you were taling about was proably mine. I'm still trying to get a hold of the componets.

that'd be hot if you could get all that stuff to fit--definitely a 1 of a kind, but the cost--wouldn't it just be easier to get small cameras mounted in/under the bumper (front w/nightvision /rear regular video), then run the a/v lines to a TV (a la alpine) then you could switch (kinda like the infiniti Q45 2002+ to see what going on behind/in front (q45 doesn't have that, the in front)--if you had something like that--your joint would be off the chain...just a thought though...it'll definitely cost but if you got that long money it would be hot

not really... cost wise it would proablly be around 200 or 400 for everything (materials and intallation) the cameras and the tv system by themselves cost more than that.

the gm projector alone costs $1000+ list price. it displays a lot of stuff though even the turn signals. i saw a unit that only has the speedo and tach for around $200-$300. not sure if it'd work on normal windshield but i saw an ebay listing for a corvette hud retrofit and the guy claims it works on non hud windshields in direct sunlight.

Depending on when you look on ebay there are people selling the entire system for auction... its just kinda rare to see the entire thing up there though. Might want to try a junkyard too... maybe you'll get lucky https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif

Yea, it will work on our cars. Here's the link to the manufacturer's site (Defi). You need to add a strip to the windshield. There's a local dealer here that sells them.
