OK guys, Im getting a CF hood pretty soon here and I have a few questions. Right now Im undecided on whether or not to paint it my car color now, because Im not sure how it will look without painting. Then, if I DO paint it my color now, will it be able to hold up another paint job in about 1 or 2 years??

here is my color car....

yeai suggest u try it on the car unpainted....to see if u like it...when i ordered my hood i was set on painting it,,until i saw the cf on my car,i loved how it looked....if i woulda painted it,woulda really regret it.......now i think leaving it alone was best!!!

with a CF hood you will either love it or hate it in cf color and same with all other people who see it, my whole fuckin fam wifes side and mine hate it but i get so many complements on it by people who know what it is. give it 4 or 5 years and everybody and there mother will have one. MOMO hood pins r what i got there stainless steel take 30 mins to install and save you from buying a new hood and new winsheild after 30 miles per hour without them try ebay

You can paint the hood, I was quoted 400 bucks. that included painting it to blend into my fenders..which is BS. It can be done.

I got Sparco hood pins. They are really good and very resistant to corrosion. I got them off www.nopionline.com

i don't see why not. as long as the prep work for both of the paint jobs are good then you shouldn't run into any problems.

the only thing i can see you running into problems is if you painted a part of the hood the first time and if you wanted it the CF to show on the second paint job.

I was just wondering if it could withstand being painted twice

painted to blend the fenders matt thats funny as shit any time theres a gap or a sharp bend in the body you dont need to blend , just paint it close to the same color the eyes get fooled. i had sum dickhead tell me the same shit and i laffed in his face

they told me if we replace parts, they would blend colors because its right at the panel like that. if they can repair panels, they would blend about half way thru the panel. seems like common sense to me. i don t know
