Seems like it would.. . I dunno.

You can take the slide rails off the OEM seats and put them on most racing seats. We did that on my buddies Saturn (LOL) and it worked fine. Might have to drill a hole or two but relatively simple. Those seats are pretty universal.

Im pretty sure I remember people posting in the old forums about using the eclipse brackets for new seats

Alls you need to do is weld in some eclipse brackets

u might wanna contact the boys down @ mmrusa.com i know they have seat brackets for the 8g and for some really weird reason the 5g galants too. they might have ones for the 7g too or might be able to make some for you...

Too bad the brackets they sell are 130 a piece. While sparco brackets are only 50-70 bucks a piece. I know that sparco has universal brackets, but if the one from eclipse fits, that's even better.

Semi-on topic.

My father has a 1969 Pontiac Catilina. He's looking for new seats. Well, he found a pair that he loves, and is going to pick them up today. Can you guess what they are?

1G Eclipse seats.

I'm slowly-but-surely infecting them w/ the Mitsu bug https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif

But I'll see if he's not going to need the brackets.

you could always get them upholstered, I have seen some tight shit done. Like blue in the middle, and black on the outside, it's really easy too.

I like seats that are fairly high boltered, like on my bro's eclipse or friend's 200SX. They are a bit more sportier than the galant, but would they look wierd? If I switched my seats, it'd be the last thing I did lol. I would actually like to get a full black interior :-D

They wont. The sliders/mounts are wider on a 7G compared to a 2G seat. Trust me I know.

You know... it's really easy to change the seats....

I have FTO ones in my 7G, you just disassemble both seats and use the base from the 7G and the back from the FTO, then you wrap the foam and material from the FTO round the base of the G, followed by the back....

Simple, there is a little bit of welding involved if you want to go that far, I added strengthening bars across the base, used higher grade bolts for the sides... they won't line up straight away, you'll need to do a little filing..

But I'll have to get some better ones with more light
As for the installation process, sorry, but I didn't take pics, as it only took me about a total of 6 hours to do the swap
