i was just wondering what would happen if you got a turbo off of say a mack truck and put it on your galant?? would it work or would you have a hole the size of your pistion in your hood?

probably couldn't spool it up, so you probably wouldn't get any results other than no power.

seeing how those trucks are at least 6L+ the turbo would overcome our 2.4L engine...

you really want to know? first off, it wouldn't fit...there's no way in hell.
Second, even if you could build an engine to withstand the amount of boost a diesel powered mack truck accepts, there is no fuel system for a galant that could maintain a stoichiometric a/f ratio...you'd be in the 19-20:1 range, at least. Third, even if you found some way to bypass the first two, the turbo wouldn't spool until way way up high...remember that your car is putting out 2.4L of gasoline exhaust gases, while a mack truck is putting out 6.0L or more of diesel gases, which tend to have a higher exhaust gas velocity. The intercooler that would be necessary to cool down the multi-hundred degree air wouldn't fit in any way, shape, or form in your galant...so you'd be breathing 300+ degree air, which will then cause detonation just as easily.

Better off just strapping a turbine engine to the roof... much better off the line
