I'm truly humbled. I never thought that this car would win! I'm going to write out a brief history... This one has a story to tell.
.........
This Galant is the product of two cars put together, more or less. Call it a "version 2.0."
It all started exactly five years ago today (5/2/09) when my dad and I met the seller for the old car...
This whole thing came about after I wrecked my old Galant on a road trip to get parts. Drove two hours home, but the damage was done. I was at a loss, and didn't know what to do. I couldn't give up, though. 24 hours later, my buddy sends me a Craigslist ad for a 2000 Galant with a broken timing belt. A few days later I hitch up the trailer and bring home my new car! Funny thing is, they are 3 months apart, and the same color! Except this one has a sunroof :)
After getting it back to the shop and cleaned off, I knew what the plan was. Swapped the motor and transmission from my old car to the new one, bought coilovers, eclipse wheels (again), and added all my other goodies as well. So many things to add, but I'll save that for another time.
Future plans include 5 speed plus a mild turbo build... The tumbler has me thinking... And of course the JDM front as well as other surprises. Stay tuned!
Special shoutout to Matt (mrg), Jamie (mysticj), Keith (Keith6110), Vic, Chris, and Greg.( So much inspiration. If it weren't for Keith rebuilding his, I might not have done this...)
The list goes on. Plus everyone else on here that has contributed to the how-toes and everything.
Thanks again!!!
