8th gen rim trouble!
so here's the deal.
I've got a 2003 Mitsubishi Galant Es that i got some rims for, im having trouble figuring out what tire size i need to put on them that wont rub the crap out of my ride.
The rim size is 17x7.5 with a 45mm off set.
just in case you need more info on the rims, the link below is them.

You should be good, I'm running 17x8 with 45 offset
-
ok, so the rims will work. sweet. any idea what size tire i'd need to put on it?
-
I have 215 but when I was looking for tire sizes somebody also recommended 225
-
225/45 R17 tires are what you need.
Don't buy some cheapass tires and you're good.
-
Great, thanks alot dude.
and one more thing, if said rims and tires were put on the car, how far do you think i could lower it before i ran into trouble?
-
Not so sure, might have to wait for some of the lowered guys to post. I haven't lowered mine yet but I will pretty soon with tein springs which are 1.7" in the front and 1.5" in the back and I shouldn't rub or need to get my fenders rolled.
-
you've got a gtz, your suspension is a little different from mine i believe, and i dont think youd have a problem. not so sure about my es.
id like to roll my fenders just for the heck of it anyway, i dont mind it.
-
why would anyone roll fenders on a stock setup?
-
That question was for the OP I know your setup which may require fender rolls for the drop.
-
sorry G-spot kind of skipped over his last response, then i read it and took off the post

17x7.5 +45mm w/ 225/45r17 can be dropped up to 3" without rubbing. maybe even more. you will not need to roll fenders unless you camber correct, and even then u might not need to.
