The Money Pit!
so heres a little back round. Currently Im on my second Galant, my first was bought around 2001, supercharged and 5 spd swap a couple of years laters, blew like two motors and then totaled out from an accident that was beyond my control (to make it short, it was parked on a corner and an NYPD squad car crashed into it). I bought an 01 around 2004 and started collecting parts for a Evo head swap at the same time. Picked up an Evo head for $600 and has been down hill ever since. I should call this this build the "Money Pit" LOL!!
About late 08' i started doing open track days/ road racing with NASA at Summit Point in W. Virginia other wise known as HPDE's (High Performance Driving Experience). Basically Im at the bottom of the totem poll trying to climb through the ranks so i can eventually drive by myself and compete in Time Trials and finally wheel to wheel competition which is very intense.
June 09' i officially put the car on jack stands and started the build gearing it towards a track car.
here are the pre-build pics

The next step was some amateur bodywork, I learned my lesson though, next time Ill just bring it to a body shop. It cost me more in fuel and supplies then it would have if I just brought it to a shop. Especially since I messed up and used the wrong primer which basically forced me to to do the job twice. Lesson learned lol!

So at this point the car is about to take a 300 mile trip with me to Piper Motorsports in Sterling VA. to get some exhaust and intercooler pipes fabbed up along with a custom storage compartment for the AEM.
The first time the car has been on the street in over a year and half.

I love how they welded 90's on the intercooler to eliminated the need for silcone couplers
behind the bumper cover.

Great work done. I love so many things about what I see, but the intake and exhaust piping is top notch!
