Not really. It depends on the size of tire that you use with the 17'' rims. Both rim and tire could be the same circumference of the 15'' and tire
The spare is not meant to ride on forever. It is just intended to get you to a place where you can fix you tire or buy another. If you are worried about the car being off balanced then just keep one of your steelies in the truck and use it for the spare. I dont know about everyone else but I hate driving on that damn spare it just doesn't feel safe.

i think i must have confused you guys.
the spare in my trunk are 15s i think.. because my car came with 15s .. you know the ones with the hubcaps
right now i got 16s on.
if i get one flat tire..
that means i'm forced to use that spare.
so it would be 3 16s and 1 15s.

is the spare in your trunk a temporary spare? like the one that came from the factory, or is it like a full sized spare, like a normal everyday wheel?
if its the temporary spare, then yea, you're good to go til you can find a place to get a new tire. those tihngs don't last very long anyways. i drove on one for like an hour or two and its down to half tread i think.
if its a full size spare, then you can ride on it all you want. just put it on the back since you want the two drive wheels to have the same sized tire. not one big one one small one.
but always remember to check your tire pressure in the spare also and do remember that you're driving on a spare tire so be careful, no stunt driving or anything like that.
If you get a properly sized tire for either the 16 or 17 inch rim, your tires on either of those rims will be lower profile. So even though the rims are bigger, the total heigth and circumference stays the same. No problem.
Always put the spare on the rear like pinoy said. If you do that it could be just about any size and be alreight to drive on... for a short time. You should get the flat tire taken care of the same day if at all possible. You can drive on the spare for a few days if your trips are short and NEVER go over 50mph. And most people don't check the pressure of the spare regularly so check it if you use it, and if it's lower than the pressure printed on the sidewall, drive straight to the nearest air compressor and fill it before driving any further.
Follow those guidelines and you'll be perfectly fine no matter what size your new wheels and tires are.

What's wrong with the spare that comes with the Galant? Won't it still fit on in the rear? If you get a flat in the front, move a wheel from the rear to the front and then use the spare on the rear. Or if the spare won't fit in the rear with the Evo brakes, just use a regular Galant steelie.Quote:
