do you mean a 63 head...as in the DOHC swap??? If so then your tranny will be fine. If you're planning to turbo then I'd swap it out to a 5 speed, but that's just my humble opinion.
no offense but if anyone was to do anything DOHC swap or turbo i would get rid of that tranny, shit if u were stock i would get rid of that tranny they SUCK ASS
to answer the original question: 0 HP
the automatic transmissions on 7Gs are pure shit. if it hasn't gone out, it WILL down the road. i really wish i would've known this 2 years ago, i would've done nothing but invest time into researching and saving up for a 5spd swap. the 5spd mitsubishi transmissions are great, but the automatic ones are about as usefull as a knife in a shoot out.
does anyone think it would hold per say 230 horses without prob?????
yeah.....if you drive like grandma.Quote:

okokok....i didnt really give u a scenario good enough........ok i have a stik galant, no problems or anything. i dont know if the gst manual trannys r any different from ours, if not then cool but if so how much horse could i put on my tranny. i never drive like grandma or anything, but will it hold up to decent power coming from a 63t?????
wow can anyone give me a definite answer to my ques????
Without any work being done to the transmission I would say at about 180-200hp it would start having problems. Definitely would not hold up to 230hp "with no problems"
My sugestions is to do a 5spd swap, either with a galant transmission or better yet 2g gst transmission. Dont even bother with the bs level ten rebuild, waste of money...

ok so you HAVE a 5spd, 5spds are way more stronger than the autos. The 5spd tranny can handle a 4g63t + more. You will most likely have to get a new clutch but other than that the tranny is probably good for at least 220whp(pulling #s outta my arse but I think it would be good for it)
cool shat thanx....
I got a 1g head on stock tranny 60k on the tranny holds up fine. Turbo would be another story, that would defintly call for a new tranny. What seth posted sounds about right.
Yah craig is running a 4g63t with his stock 5spd and he says its holding up fine. Pretty sure he has an ACT clutch though...
ya i know ima have to get a new clutch, ima prolly end up just puttin the blok on there anyways, i just hope i dont tear up some gears. ahhh well see what happens..
