So I finally took -G-rim to some road course fun
There is this new local road course very near my parents house deep within the industrial area. Its been certified to be a SCCA approved course where you can get your license and get track time. For now...every Friday they have Crooked drags with is basically a 1/4 mile long track with turns and staights and just recently their Drift track opened where drifters can go out and have a melee of fun. I got there really early and met the owner of the place and the guy is super cool and took me around to tour the track...so I got a new friend.

Met some new people and surprised alot of people with the 7g as once I was able to get used to the track layout I was able to compete very well against some "higher" class cars. I invited some of my friends but they all had to either work or other plans so I went out by myself, but I had fun and got in about 15 runs or so.
Here are some pics I took...sorry there isn't too many. I took the pics right when the track opened but there wasn't too many cars, but about 30 mins after the track opened alot of cars started to come in. When I left around 8:30ish there were about a good 50 cars in the staging lanes.

The red 86 MR2 is fully ready SCCA race car with a built 4age motor. That car was super fast and was wiping the asphalt against anything. Its owned by some older guy who is very modest, but very cool and gave me some tips.
I went against the Evo once and we had a pretty nice race, he beat me though by a full car. I was able to smack down a couple S2000s, a few Civics, a Nissan sentra SEr, and a 2006 BMW 325i. I lost to a experienced SCCA S2K driver, Evo X, Miata, and a 240sx.
I managed to catch a patch of road dirt during a series of S turns and the back end got loose and tapped a big cone. Looks like I will be able to buff it out..looks like its all surface residue from the cone.

Overall I had alot of fun and was happy how the car handled. I probably can dial up the dampening just a little bit. My Bridgestones Potenzas did a awsome job on gripping. I was able to take turns pretty fast and only had a couple noticable understeer issues.
I can't wait to go again once I install the new clutch setup. My clutch was the MAIN thing holding me back today from really going wide open throttle on the straights.
