Cardone CV half shaft question

My new cardone half shaft (driver's side) for 1997 galant ES, 2.4L, I4 has just arrived from Rockauto. However, I noticed that it has the abs ring and my car does not have abs. A note inside the box advised that it may be possible to install this axle without removing the ring, but if necessary, the ring can easily be removed. Bear in mind that when ordered, I selected non-abs axle. The question is, can a cardone abs axle be installed on this car with removing the tone ring? If not, what method is used to remove the ring. I probably will take it to pepboys for installation, but I need to know about any problems beforehand. Thanks.

The tone ring itself would have nothing to touch, the only foreseeable problem is the clearance in the hub, but I doubt that would be a problem either.
