steering is pulling a little after power steering fluid flush

So I flushed out my power steering fluid yesterday. I realized I've never, ever done it, and when I looked in the reservoir I was low, and the fluid was borderline black. Other than that, no steering problems really, except for a shitty rack&pinion that AAMCO put in 5 years ago.

Now my steering feels wierd when driving. If i'm turning it one direction, it's ok, but the second i change direction in the wheel it feels sloppy and lags for a second. then it catches back up and it's fine for the moment. this happens both at a standstill and while driving at any speed.

i've checked the reservoir plenty of times and i'm pretty sure there's no air in the system. i see no bubbles and i made sure to never let the reservoir run out of fluid when i was flushing.

i'm wondering now if i had this steering problem before but the 10,000 year old fluid I was using was covering it up because it was so sludgy. the steering feels a lot smoother and easier now, except for the problem i'm having.

what gives?

maybe its not fully bled. you know how to bleed it right. remove the cap, put some cardboard under the tires and turn the steering wheel from full right to full left and again.

As for having a little slack when turning, that maybe means that your PS pump is going. Its normal for 94 car. I have one sitting in my trunk waiting for the day mine will give up on me.

i really learned it this time...i thought i was doing some preventative maintenance after reading in the service manual that old fluid eats the seals and mine were starting to just barely leak. i guess i'll try bleeding it again...
