I'll post pics tomorrow. :D
I didn't realize it was gonna be gunmetal either, looks great in the engine bay.
I know silver with gun metal is the bomb! lol
Bought some rims finally, now needs rubber!

Can't wait to put these on!
Both of those are bigger than necessary. A 225/40 proper summer tyre will be more than enough...All that more width will do is numb the feel through the steering wheel, delay response, add weight, cause more rubbing, the car would probably feel worse with that much tyre
I wouldn't say that. Going from a 16x6.5 with a 225/50 tire on the Pontiac to a 17x8 with a 235/45 tire, the bigger contact patch made quite the difference.
As for the weight, the difference is so slight, it's nit even worth worrying about.
You say you noticed quite a difference but with the new setup you got:
-A shorter sidewall
-A less 'ballooned' sidewall
-Not that much wider of a tyre
PS: I assume you went to a different tyre (ex: Falken Ziex 512 to Falken Azenis RT615K), that can make a huge difference. I know it did when I switched from Kumho ASX on my G-Games to farm and fleet tyres on my steelies to Michelin PS2 on my BBS
Also: The difference in weight is small, but the tyre is where weight is most noticeable.
I went from a Goodyear Eagle F1 All Season with the stockers to a General Exclaim UHP with the 17"s.
It's just a wide rim, if it was an 18x7, 225/40 is perfect.
225's are perfect for an 8" wheel.
Must post pic of my 225/45/17 PS2 on 17x8 +40 BBS RG-R

That's not as badly stretched as I'd thought it would be...
Picked up some cheap wheels...
seriously, why did you sell that 8g?
Good feel guilty!
Did you notice the sun shine pics of the Challenger? you were right, the colors are very close
you got that right
i know you asked for more sun pictures before the accident, they are here somewhere haha
Very nice. Those are some sick ass wheels bro, keep us updated with the "after" pics.
225/40/18 is the recommended up-size fitment for an 18x8 wheel, that's a perfect fit and its not stretched.
