Dam im sorry to hear that so whats next?
Awd?
jigz, I was knee deep in 3rd gear rubber when it popped. Only 54k on the trans. Already found one with 90k for $450.
awd would be killer but it's not happening. Just going to get another f5m51. It was going to storage next week which is unfortunate. I'm just not in the mood to work on it anymore this year so when it comes back next spring I'll get it back in shape.
shoot that sucks Matt
well damn. Atleast you were putting her away anyway. Just look forward to next summer. Id rather the trans blew than the motor anyway.
where'd you get your 2.0 cable Matt? I may have to be the guinea pig :P
WTF!!! and this is the stock v6 G tranny? Damn I really fucking hate the way they made the G auto trannies. Sorry to hear about that man, good luck with everything.
Damn bro sorry to here that n glad you found another.
:(
Damn Matt, sorry to hear it. Get a new tranny, call me whenever you want to install it. We can bust it out in an afternoon.
Edit: Also, quit changing your sig! ;)
damn.. sorry to hear man. I wish I was a littler closer to you guys, I would definitely lend a day or two to get it back on the road. Did you keep an eye on the tranny fluids? I've changed mine 3 times already just to make sure everything is looking good. Maybe something to look for next time?
Im not entirely convinced that it would be a problem with not changing the fluid. A friend and I just changed all my fluids 3 weeks ago in the 5spd Stratus and im pretty sure it was the original fluid. It was BLACK, looked horrible. Surprisingly the car still shifted pretty good but was unexplainable on how much better it shifted afterward.
I'm not in a rush to get it fixed since the season here is pretty much done anyway. First thing in the spring I'll tear it apart and find out what went wrong since I'm curious myself.
Adrian, I think the '99 ECU is flashable. I ran a test write the day before I popped the tranny and ecuflash acknowledged "OK" across the board during the test write. The only problem is nobody has developed the correct file for it to go in the rommetadata folder yet. The 01 ECU has one developed though.
Hey since we are all on the subject of trannys. I was just wondering if there was a way to do a tranny flush without going to the dealer? (auto tranny)
How many miles do you have on the tranny already? b/c if you have alot of miles on it & it hasn't been flushed/changed i would have it flushed & changed which reminds me i need to have mine flushed
156000
I just want to know if theres a way to flush the tranny without the flush machine. I don't want to stain Matts thread.
