I suspect I can get it started again tonight. Just don't want to rush the process. I'll take a quick video once it's done. If you guys get lucky, you'll get to see an engine fire or something else exciting!

Now to put everything else back together and hope I put the piston rings right side up and in the correct order  Don't think I'm that careless, but OCD is a BITCH, especially when you've already put something together.

Ah, snow is nice to look at but sucks for me! There are like 1-foot snow drifts in front of my driveway. No way I'm going anywhere, so I'm just taking it slow.
Head is back on, oil pan is back on, timing is set. Just need to put all the intake stuff back on, hook the downpipe back up, and bolt the water pipe up. I plan to do a quick compression test. #5 seems to be leaking down still, but I think it's because of the rust on the cylinder wall from the blown HG - it'll take some running for the rings to seat back in. Dunno, I think it'll be OK, though.
well hook that shit up! i wanan see it run! and give some quick revs :)
Just my luck. Block is sealing A-OK but compression test shows me that the head is still leaking. I didn't check it for flatness and I didn't see any cracks, so I'm guessing it's warped over combustion chamber #5.
Haven't even bothered starting it yet, so I'm going to reuse everything that went in since I'm currently broke - head gasket, oil, etc. Gotta drain the coolant, though. Yay, another week of waiting
Just hit that headgasket with a few coats of copper spray, wait 10 mins for it to tack up and install it, I had a cometic headgasket that I removed at least 3 times and reused it and it never failed.Quote:
