Um i wouldnt say its hard by any means its like doing every other type of engine just take your time and make sure everything comes out right, meaning just double check everything and then check it again. I can recommend a couple of things, get a new crank and have it reground to match the main bearings its worth the money and not having to spend the time plastic gauging the crank and the bearings. Seperating the rods from the pistons is another daunting challenge since the wrist pin is such a tight press fit, what i did is heated the area on the rods with a propane torch and use a vice with a couple sockets to press the old pins out, and since the new pins that come with the pistons will be the same tight fit, i took the pins and put them in the freezer for 4 hrs causing them to shrink. Then once the pins are cold take and oil up the rod end and the piston, quickly grab the pins and start tapping them in with a hammer being cautious not to miss and hit your pistons, it will be kinda tough but they will go in. I can make a tutorial for you when i finish the engine completely.
Oh and no i did not use the vice to put the new pistons on the rods. Lol
one more thing. Remember to put the piston rings in an x pattern. None of the rings should be at the 12 or 6 o clock position. Every motor i ever built has called for that in the book.
Thanks i was wondering if there was a position for them to be in.
10,2,4,8 o clock position

It will be done soon enough I'm not rushing it cause that is how you make mistakes, but I do want it done more then anybody. And ziggen why the fuck whould. I mount my fmic like that? Actually its 12 inches tall I would need to cut half of my front end to do that lol. But the beast will live soon and this winter its coming apart again for some more modifications...... and imnot telling anyone except rob what is going on this winter.
