Wow, now thats a clean G.
looks great bro. color match your calipers and lug nuts and its perfect!!!
I have been collecting various 5 Speed parts for the last couple of days.. Thanks to Steven (stvn_mj) for the parts..I got the MT transmission today at the local JY which on had 41k kms....
Here's the list
Clutch & brake pedal
Master & Slave Cylinders
Shifter cables and base shifter w/ shift knob
3g Flywheel (needs resurfacing)
3g Trans mount
Galant Stock Auto Starter (This is gonna work right?)
3g MT transmission
Shifter bushings
Clutch hard lines
Clutch fluid cup and bracket
The only thing i don't have so far is the clutch kit, shifter boot and cables brackets bolted to the transmission..
Since I will be using a 3g flywheel my stock flywheel bolts (7) should work right?
the galant starter should work as long as you use a 3g flywheel.
Sweet. The transmission came w/ the flywheel. So that's good.
With the 3g flywheel i also don't have to pull the pilot bearing right?
you don't have the shifter cable bracket for the transmission? I think I just saw someone selling one
this is the one i'm talking about.. where i pointed..

If anyone have the shifter cable bracket for sale pls pm me.
shoot I can't remember where I saw that bracket for sale.. maybe it was on Club3g. I just sold one to galantman03 but don't have any more :(
Damn! I wish you still have a spare. Anyhow, I will end up on the stealership if no one can sell me. I still need some Brembo bolts and pins too..
The cables bracket was $69 + taxes from the dealer.. I'm still hoping to get it somewhere used.
Got the stock 3g flywheel from JY resurfaced today afternoon..

I'm still waiting for the ACT clutch kit to arrive and I'll start the swap hopefully next weekend.
Nice, it's about time.
A few things I recommend for your build before you put it all together, they are cheap and super easy to install and will make driving the 5 speed feel better as it will take the slack out of the cables and prevent the shifter from flexing. It says they are for an EVO, trust me they fit the 3g/8g, I knew several members using them.

Head swap..
glad you found the brackets. Might as well clean those suckers while they're off the transmission. They really take away from the look when they're all rusty :P
and is that an entire Evo 4G63 you picked up?
I will clean those brackets for sure.
Yes, I'm glad to have a local who was parting out his evo 8..
I'm just waiting for all the parts to arrive on my door step. So far all necessary parts have been ordered.
Clutch kit came today..

Thanks stvn_mj..
Just warning you, you might have to bend those hardlines to get them to fit
boy am I glad to see it all got there. It all went to the right car.
If I was you I would just make one so you know it fits right. I need to sell this tranny so I can start looking into my next project.
not the 3000gt boot.. lol I bought it cause someone said in the 5 speed swap thread that it fits, but nope, it doesn't fit. It's too skinny. For the amount of money I wasted, I'd rather just get one custom made. If someone you know has a sewing machine though, it really shouldn't be that hard to make. It's just a matter of getting the right material
wasnt HungarianHunter selling them?
the 3k gt boot works fine as does the integra one.the trick is to take the original auto teim piece with prnd12 and dremel out the whole center leaving only the edges. wrap the boot around it and secure it either by scews, zipties or when i had it i made slits and just put it around the guide tabs that line it up to the center console. screw it back in then put the trim bezel back on and it wont be saggy anymore or show the whole shifter
dang I think I already threw away that part lol. The boot is super skinny though. I can't imagine it fitting around anything.
the one i had worked fine. it stretches a bit too but i didnt have to do too much to get it on really
on a side note if you have a guy parting out an evo why not do like what me and stewi did? he used only the circle trim ring, and molded it to the stock bezel where mine is the actual console cut and molded to the shifter bezel. its not too hard and will look clean when done. we both have pics floating around the site
Thanks Craig! I might just have my in law custom sew it for me..
Got the Master Cylinder, brake and clutch pedal installed today..
I'm still gonna put some clay on there where i drilled the holes for the alarm and amp wires.

Lookin good so far. Another option for the shift boot would be from a Mazda MX-6 or 2G Ford Probe.
^Thanks
I have question about the reverse solenoid male socket on the 3g manual tranny. Is there an existing auto female socket that will fit on there? I know where to get the wires from the black harness but i wonder where to get the female socket for it? Any install pics would be nice.
Thanks guys!
you can just use a universal female connector, if you dont find the plug. its no big deal
Gonna get a universal one tom.
Gonna swap the tranny and shifter cables this coming Saturday.
I'm disappointed w/ our local Mitsu dealer.. The guy i was talking too forgot to place my order from last week! I don't think I can proceed w/ the swap this Saturday if I don't have the flywheel bolts and some various bolts/washers to install the clutch line brackets.
