For those of you whove been to the TGC captree meets and have driven along ocean Parkway, traffic came to a stand still from the entrance of captree all the way down ocean parkway.

Acquired for 600. 99 ES 2.4, Clean straight body, 170k. Clean inside only flaw is the head gasket which the previous owner didn't know about. He was doing a tune up and asked my friend for advice as to why it ran like crap, then he turned to me and I went to check it out, after checking it out I found that the oil cap had milky substance on it, I suspected the head gasket. Offered him 600 to his asking 800. Next day picked it up.

Picture is in the guys garage, 2 yrs worth of dust. Ever since it overheated it never ran right. More signs of a blown head gasket. His mechanic did a water pump/timing belt job but the damage was already done.
After I pulled the head my peace of mind that the car only needs the head gasket changed.

You can see where the first layer was already gone between 3 and 4.

How it sits, waiting on the machine shop to resurface the head. Then its to be brought back to life and turned into a profit. With gas price at around 4.25 a gallon in the desert, a 4 door 4 cylinder car with working a/c is what its next owner needs for about 3 grand. With tax money in some people's hands still and the simple fact that I can park it in front of Oreilly Auto Parts in Indio (work there part time) it should be a pretty quick sale once running.
