Nice purchase! :-D
instead of using those spacers and long as hell studs, if u have the guts, take an angle grinder and cut the top side of the exhaust manifold and bend it up and keep doing it until its bent enough to clear the starter then take it to a shop and have them tig weld it for u and u r done, now i was told u might have to grind down the compressor housing side a lil bit and u might not
i just wont do the 2 spacers, roman did the one spacer and according to him it was alot of work
slava who is a member on club3g did the hack on the manifold and it worked great and looked way better than using the spacers
good luck
ive seen people do it with 2 spacers and ive seen slava's work over at club 3G...i have already test fitted the turbo on the car and it fits perfect...the back side was hitting the starter just a tad...so i shaved that part of the starter housing...and turbo sits perfect...
i belive it looks like roman did two spacers also. look closely between the manifold and head.
im starting tomorrow so ill be showing pics step by step on the whole installation
yes roman did use 2 i know for a fact
I was wrong roman did use 2. But all I'm saying is that it would look so much cleaner and cheaper to do the manifold hack
still waiting on the intake to arrive and rainy weather ahead..meanwhile today i got the new BOV welded and had a flange made for the boost sensing port.

Whokilledhoughes, are you 5 speed swapped already? The reason Roman had to use two is because he is swapped and using a 2g starter, on the 2g starter, the solenoid leans forward at the front edge of the starter where as the stock 8g solenoid sits on top the starter straight up.
If your turbo is close to the starter, I highly recommend getting a starter heat bag/shield from Jegs. Its cheap, it was like $10, I got one, its universal size, trim to fit your application and works great. My downpipe is 1/8" off my starter.
no im not 5-speed and the cold side just barely sits on the starter... i got a shield already from DEI. covers the the whole black side of the starter.

Vacuum manifold installed...notice that the stock vacuum line that was on the brake booster fits perfect with its curves on the left side of the VM. used 3/8 hose from booster to VM.

After all that place gaskets and spacers in place and watch her fit. you need 3 exhaust manifold gaskets.

Left to be done in the coming days
-attach feed line and drain line.
-install injectors and resistor box
-fuel pressure regulator hooked up.
-install fuel pump
-install e-manage
-get wideband sensor hooked up
-get some type of down pipe going not complete as im gonna have to drive to the muffler show when im finished.
after that recheck and tripple check all connectors fittings make sure everything looks good to go and i will record the car on its first start up. johnathansgalant will be helping me with the install of the emanage and get me a base tune to drive around for a bit.( to the muffler shop then when time comes to a dyno tune).
More to come
Coming along nicely. Good job dude.
Bro you should REALLY heatwrap that manifold before you start it up. That Sucker gives off so much heat its insane. But looking real good there. Glad to see that everything fit so far.
Whats this left to right (j-pipe to actuator) deal???? You are only suppost to jump the j-pipe to actuator by a small piece of vac-line and not going anywhere else.
