This is definitely coming along well, hopefully well see it over the summer
What a waste today was. I ran the brake lines and I was just getting excited about mounting the gas tank and the rear subframe when I noticed that one of the e-brake cables was different. I pulled them both out and I really dont know what car one of them came out off. Im stuck right now. I cant go the the j/y for another week. This sucks.
Either way, here's a pic of the 2g Diamante rear trailing arms. Notice how bulky the tube is. Dont have one of the old style for comparison.
If someone can post a pic of the old style that will be great!

The car has the fuel tank and the rear subframe installed for good. Used the filler neck from the 95 eclipse since it was in much better shape than the 7g one. Ill have pics soon
New pics as promised.
Still waiting for the pass side hub to come in the mail.

This is going to be a very nice 7G when youre done.
kudos on the PS lines
So my engine decided to have an oil leak. Im not sure where exactly its coming from, but next week Ill be taking the lower timing belt cover.
Timing belt skipped and here's the damage. All intake valves were bent, all exhaust were fine. I didnt take chances with the same head and went with the back up - just transfered the valve springs and retainers.

damn that sucks bro... good thing you had that extra head laying around
Hey mko what transmission are you using
A stock 96 Galant S manual trans. Why you asking tho?
Sweet progress man.
Cauemse there are 4 transmission we can use F5M 22 23 32 or 33 I wanna know peoples experience with each one as you know after this engine swap it will be my next move . As far as I've gathered the higher the last two digits in the code the stronger the tranny is
Believe me, with good driving you can rock the stock trans and still make 400 to the wheels. Or you can break the trans with 200hp and bad driving
She is up and running boys, man what i relieve.
Badass that you had the mishap and got it back up in no time!
Well I'm good to transmissions my first mod was a bigger tranny cooler and I know just how to make her move
Lol but I'm not worried about the one I got but when I swap to 5speed if one is preferable to another I w
Want the better one even if I have to be patient
I have over 248k on my car and the tranny is strong. I just want to go for the best factory option
JUst did a compression test for the first time after the engine was rebuild year and a half ago. Now that it has 2g head instead of Hyundai head it dropped 20 psi a cylinder. Either way, its holding 200psi across the board.
yeah bro, i was workin my ass off on this one. If it wasnt for the finding valve spring compressor and cleaning the head delays, I would have done it in a day. But Im happy shes running again.
visionary, 7gs have an F5M31 5 speed and the 2g GSTs have an F5M33, longer and stronger gears is the difference but the 31 is fine.
MKO, looking really good man.
Look at this Addco sway bar fitting the AWD subframe......man Im so excited,,,,its got no clearance issues. It definitely fits better that it does on the FWD subframe.

i see a GVR4
That's the one I want then and
Dayum mko you got a car lot
Looks good. I pulled all of my carpet and installed household 3/8" foam carpet pad. Helped to quiet road and exhaust noise dramatically. Not to mention its cheap and fairly lightweight. The factory carpet went right back into place as if I didn't change a thing.
That outback looks identical to mine. Mines a 2.2 5 speed with the leather interior.
Subaru makes great cars. Very easy to work on.
Started working on the front end. Dont have recent pics, but 80% of it is finished.

Got the driveshaft back from the shop and it looks very nice. It totaled $175 for shorting the front piece and replacing the middle piece tube. As I was leaving my starter got weird and I couldnt start the car. I got one from advanced auto for $70 and I hope it holds up.
Did you pop start it or something to get it started? What was it doing just cranking really slow?Maybe the ground for it got loose or something.
At first It dragged and I thought my battery died so I went and bought new battery. When that didnt fix the problem, I was like let me tab on the starter and then it did nothing when i tried to start it. Luckily my friend got there and we did a bumper to bumper push and I roll started the engine so I can get home. yeah it was fun.
how thick is your rear swaybar?
project is comin along nicely mate
So I'm reviving the thread. I got lots of new parts and im going after horse power this summer, enough is enough with exterior and interior mods.

Last parts just came in.
14'' fan, Aeromotive rail with 750cc injectors, Fidanza flywheel and pressure playe and ACT clutch disc, 290 lbh Supra pump, and the last axle i need.
