Looking good man.
Awesome work! Don't know if I wouldve had the guts to cut up my radiator support, I prob wouldve chopped up my bumper lol
Looking good Keith . Can't wait to see it done
wow that looks awsome, great fab work and the whole idea to start with. it looks like you have the square tube ran all the way up to the frame rail, couldnt you remove that extra 2-3"s of rad. support that isnt doing anything to give you more IC room?.. or is the tubing actually welded to that.
the only thing i noticed, and it may just be the pic but the center support looks pretty close to the existing radiator which is fine but if you decide to upgrade to a thicker radiator later on you might not be able to just drop it in, you may have to move your lower mounting tabs back a little taking away space from other areas like in between the fan and turbo and things like that.
i know the v6 is a lil different from a 4cyl. setup interms of turbo systems so its probaly isnt an issue but if it is then you just have a little more figuring out to do later on.
but great work so far cant wait to see it done.
Believe it or not. The Mishimoto aluminum evo 5 2-row radiator sits there perfect. The box steel center support does not go back far enough to go past the upper/lower radiator mounts. The picture it just a little deceiving lol.
Good job bro. I want more pics and progress. Lol. Yes a plus for the evo 567 mishimoto radiator. I got that with the dual fan shrouds. Win win.
Well done there Keith, keep the progress coming!!
Thanks to Brian for letting us know this fits perfect and clears jdm heads =)
Thanks man, I'll keep everyone updated as I keep going at it. I'm hoping it will be ready for mod, but there's no way to tell until I'm almost done.
I like the idea and I basically plan on doing similar work so I won't have to hack into the JDM bumper.
No crash bar??
U should definitely mock one up man. I would never drive without one.
I meant to ask but forgot to. What did u exactly do to the crossmember?? Cut it and reweld it??
I do plan on welding some more box metal up for crash support. If it weren't for the crash bumper on my old G, I don't know if the engine would have crushed my legs if the frame didn't take the shock.
Cut it out! Then welded in some box steel. It's so much stronger than the original metal.
Spent 5 hours mounting this. No Idea why it took so long other than aiming for perfection lol.

Just showing clearance. This is the space between the bumper and the intercooler (micrometer was dead so 3 paint sticks will do!)

Niceeees
Dude.... Nice
It begins...
Super sexy with that intercooler.
I also forgot to ask why didn't u have the condenser in any of the previous pics?? Eliminating the AC??
Please say you'll be getting black silicone?
Keith everything looks great. I joked about removing the lower rad support a few years ago for some round tube but I really like the way you did it. FYI you can get a crash bar in there. Look for my older build thread, I have pics of how I cut mine. Some of you know I had a modified one in my old 8g that I got hit nearly head on at 40MPH and it held up like a champ. If I ever have to go to a 4" FMIC I will have to follow in your footsteps, because I have no bumper left to cut, LOL
^ so true. U will have to track the car without a bumper. Lol.
This car never had AC since I redid it. So yes, but old news lol.
For now, blue lol. Until I get some more down the road. I bought them because they were in a 10 pack on amazon. Same brand as the current ones for my cai so I know they will last.
Lol!! I didn't even know you had another g before your current. I'll have to check it out. I knew I was going to need to cut the bumper for the 3in FMIC, but I had no idea it was going to come so far out into the bumper that it would change the appearance of it.
Four gauges just fit!

Hate you so much right now lm in the hospital and your building a monster :'(
Looking good thou wish I was there helping
The pod lay out looks good. Funny how you have electrical tape as a band aid i do that my self and my non car friends always make fun of me for it!
The inside of your engine is all pretty and stuff.
The outside isn't. What's going on here.
Now you're going to make the outside not ugly since the inside is rad?
Looks food get it all together and bring it to mod but I say you clean it up and throw on some black paint
Damn dude! Fuck the nonsense, we got some serious builds going on here! Loving it!
Nice. Im Fulling behind. :(
Nicely done
Thanks guys. Not sure if it will make MOD or not; but I'm going to try like hell!

What's your plan for the injector clips and a resistor pack?
Lol I know how hard it is to see it growing up Corey xD
Silvertune,
I'm using dsm clips and I wired in a 3000gt vr4 resistor pack.
