thanks, yes it was very easy, i warmed my engined up to soften the rubber and just pull out gently and put leds in (make sure they are in the right way) then push the rubber back in.

Yeah those do look good. Do you think that's as bright as the halos can get?
i'm sure there are ways to make them brighter, but i dont have time to figure that out. but probably someone here will. i'm too focused on doing my rear drum to disc conversion and putting new suspension and struts in and tuning up my car. too much to do in such little time.
just a heads up, one of my leds got stuck and i had to pretty much destroy it to get it out of the housing. Trimmed off the edges on another one for a better fit. will do the same for 3 more and if its a big improvement i guess i will modify the remaining 12 and replace the bulbs.

yes bro, there are 194. Get then as brighter you could get then. Get the ones like 5 to 10 leds inside. I will post pics soon i oder some blue bolbs. By the way you need 16 bulbs in total, 8 bulbs for 2 halos. 4 bulbs for each halo.Quote:

Yes i'd like some follow up from posters on here that have had the heads for a while.. anything that you wish was different/taken into consideration before buying/different with design/looking like its not gonna last long?
Since my opinion is kinda different from everybody elses, I just wanted to say that I like these headlights and the LEDs are dope. I didn't wire mine to the turn signals tho, I just wired them to a new switch next to my fogs. I think the LEDs really set these headlights apart from other projectors on the market. And honestly, I have no complaints with these headlights. As long as you wire them to your liking, you'll be satisfied.Quote:

The headlights look great on the Galant. When my brother was borrowing my car, by chance, my wife and I was out driving in my other car and we seen him pass us in the opposite direction and I was like, "Damn, my Galant looks pretty tight with those headlights". It was cool to see my Galant from a different perspective, as if it was someone else's car. It was almost dusk and he had the HID's on and it looked nice. The 8G is a bad ass looking car even after 10 years.
I have to admit - I don't like the light output. I was so used to the reflective lens of the old style headlights that the HID light pattern could be seen for damn near 1/2 a mile down the road on signs. Now, the light pattern can only be seen on signs that the now distinct cutoff line just so happens to fall on, which is only a few hundred feet at best (and I'll eventually need to use the high beams now, something that wasn't necessary with the stock headlights and HID bulbs). I guess I'm just not used to it.
Another thing I don't like about these headlights is that it's not a perfect or even near-perfect fit, as it doesn't line up in the holes correctly to secure the headlights to the frame. It could be my Galant as I haven't really read any other complaints about it.
Overall, if you're going for the projector headlight-look for your Galant, then these headlights hit a home run. The price is not much more than stock 8G headlights. They are dual headlights, and have Halo's and LED's. The headlight housing is a little bit slimmer than stock, so the headlights will slide into the frame with little effort. However, you may encounter certain issues if you're not familiar with modding your car:
- Like the screw holes not lining up, or if you use the screw at the top of the headlight to secure it to the frame there will be a gap under the headlight near the bumper. My solution was not to use the top screw holes so there wouldn't be a gap. But even if I used the top screw holes, I wouldn't be able to use screw holes near the radiator - so I had to sacrifice one or the other because like I said, the screw holes don't line up. Eventually, I may just drill a new hole for the top screw because the headlights are sitting someone loose (because the only screws securing it to the frame is the two screws near the radiator. I didn't use the screw near the turn signal, either).
- Having to ghetto rig your H4 HID bulb in order for the H1 HID bulb to work (while using the existing H4 HID kit ballast and wires without having to splice or buy any additional stuff in order to have HID). It wasn't as simple as removing the H4 HID bulb and replacing it with the H1 HID bulb. It required a little ingenuity to get it working.
- No instructions on how to connect the LED's or Halos, however, it's not that hard if you're remotely familiar with working with positive and negative wires. The funny thing is, I thought the halo light wasn't working when I connected the wires. It was just that the light output was so weak that at first, I didn't notice that they were on and I was doing the work in a semi-dark garage. When I last tested it, the 3 LED's on the driver side headlight didn't work. I never tested the LED's on the passenger side. I won't be using these anyhow as I will be using yellow LED's for the halo and yellow 1157's for the turn signal, to match the yellow fog lights.
These are just some of the issues I encountered. My main goal was just to have the look of projectors. I didn't think I was going to have the issues I'm having, but they can be corrected by adding more time to work on them. I installed them on a lunch break and that was about it (less than one hour). I'm going to pick up the Galant sometime today from my Mom's house and I'll install those LED 194 bulbs, however, I don't expect any real difference. I ordered two sets of bulbs. One set has 3 LED's and the other set looks as if it contains only one LED per bulb (I'll end up using these in the gauge cluster of both of my cars as there are 20 bulbs in this set I got off Ebay). Aznlvrboy said he used a 194 LED bulb that has 5 LED's per bulb and judging by the pics, it didn't make a difference. I did a brief search on Google in regards to making LED's brighter but couldn't find any real solution. Whatever it is that can make the Halo light shine brighter (using the 194 bulbs), I can only assume will also cause the bulb to burn out twice as fast. I imagine you can use other bulbs, like an H1 inside one of the 4 holes for the halo bulbs, but I'm not sure if the heat of a headlight bulb near the halo plastic will cause it to melt.
But you know, that's what's so great about this site and our cars. We do what we have to in order to make something fit or work on our cars. Just because those holes were made for a 194 bulb doesn't mean that the hole couldn't be enlarged to fit another bulb. I won't be trying this as I far too many other priorities and projects that need attention first. For now, I'll try the 194 LED bulbs I bought and see how they look. If they still look like crap, well, I tried, but at the same time, I've achieved what I set out to do, which was having projector headlights, so not having Halo's won't be the end of the world.
how come you couldnt just plug in an H1 bulb with the original ballast and wiring from the H4 kit? That's what i had planned..
oh i looked at the diagram, makes a lil more sense... thats for hi/lowbeam HIDs though isnt it
awesome info BGR glad to see what other people thought aswell, my perspective is ultimately the same. they fit, but they dont, the holes where you mount it fits fine, but under the heads there is a small gap that is noticeable if you look at a low angle, if you can try to find out how to fix that and close up the gap that would be great. Im sure we can find a way to put weather stripping to close it up.
Problems:
The low beam bulbs went out quickly
Within two weeks the outer weather strip wore down and is partly deteriorated
The Highbeams seem so centered and pointed to the ground its barely worth putting them on

I haven't tried it yet, but I imagine if I hit the high beam switch, this bulb (the H4's hi beam) will turn on as it's still connected to the ballast. I tried disconnecting it from the ballast, but then the H1 HID didn't work, so I left it connected.

The H1 HID replacement bulbs had two sets of wires. One set connected to the H1 HID bulb and another set for the high beam (non-HID). I removed this wire. In this pic below, you'll see the wire for the high beam along with the H4 wiring that came stock with these projector headlights. With more time invested, I can make use of these wires, but for now, they're not being used.
