o2 sensor diagnosed: Code P0141

***UPDATE***
My car is a "Cali" spec and it has 4 O2 sensors. Bank 1 Sensor 2 is located on the side of the engine closest to the fire wall below the "mini" catalytic converter. It is accessible only from underneath the car. O2 sensor socket did not work. Had to use 7/8 open end wrench. After completing the installation of the new sensor (Bosch), started car, light remained on after three on/off cycles. On fourth cycle, drove it around the block, shut it off, then restarted. "Check Engine Soon" light turned off!! SUCCESS!!

Side note: Took it to national oil change location for inspection. They checked all lights (i.e. head, blinkers, front and back), horn and insurance. They did not start the vehicle! What a B---t!

The O2 sensor socket didn't work? Like it didn't fit? I just changed mine two weeks ago. I have pretty small wrists though so I can squeeze into little tiny spaces.

same here. i had no problem using the O2 sensor socket on mine. i think if i didn't have such an easy time taking off the sensor, I still had enough room to use the air hammer attachment on my O2 sensor socket

The socket fit, but I didn't have enough room to attach my breaker bar or ratchet.

Did both of you come in from the top or underneath? I chose underneath and had to deal with the rack and pinion being in the way. Nevertheless, I can use the 7/8" wrench for the other three sensors, if needed. Shouldn't need to though, since all four have now been replaced.

i use the O2 sensor socket and torque gun on a extesion from inside the wheel well, just take off wheel and remove wheel well sheild. turn steering rack to move rotor out of way, i just go under to properly place the socket onto the sensor then from the side lock in the extension with swivel tip.

make sure you disconnect and pull the wire all the way down cause it will start to wrap the socket

I came from underneath but I used a swivel head ratchet w/ a pipe for extra leverage. Once I broke the initial bond between the threads though, then it was cake from there.

the sensors right after the manifolds would be sensor 1. after the cat is sensor 2.

IIRC there is only 1 sensor 2 on the v6.

i came in from underneath too. i forget if i used just a swivel ratchet or my breaker bar but i didn't spend too much time removing it, like beam, once i cracked it loose, i just twisted it out with my hands.

i did however cut the wire too, that way i didn't have to worry about it when taking the old sensor out and i put removed it as I was running the wire for the new sensor.
