Gold would go good, especially if you get the gold rims, but you can't go wrong with your car body's color as an alternative.
I called my local rim shop about the rims and they told me I the gold ones wouldn't fit on the galant because they are 8in wide, so now I gotta find some other rims.
You should do it gold or same color as your car but why wouldn't they fit? I was running 20x8.5 at one point now I have 18x8.5 R and 18x8 F some ppl are even running 9
Talk to some of the other wheel guru's on here, depending on the offset, and the use of spacers and rolled fenders, 8" will fit, I plan on throwing some 18 x 8" rims on mine shortly.
^Agree but RedGalant2k1 would be a great person to ask
8" will fit, tell em to suck it.
Buy.
Guys that said no you wanting 8" wide wheels are full of Caca's.
Here's what you need. Scroll down to wheel fitment section. There's even a G with 20x9.5 that stick out a bit because of the low offset.
Maybe Cody (Blue8g) can find you a set for more cheaps than your local shop, like he did for Adrian (Beam514)

No I didn't for my 20's but for my 18's I'm using spacers cuz the center bore of my lex wheels are to small but you should definitely get them
Oh shit, I just saw your post above mines Carlos, I didn't know you posted, I didn't wanna make it seem like he shouldn't listen to you, that's my bad bro!
Ok the guy told me they would fit but they might rub and he wanted to get me some that would fit perfect and not rub, but he can get them for me if I want to.
well, I'll tell you that 17x8 +45 will fit then lol. xd_01 is running 17x8 +35 and they poke a little bit.
they'll rub in the rear, just roll your rear fenders and no more rub, people have been running 17x8 +38 evo 7-9 wheels for a long time with just a rear fender roll depending on tire size, unless the offset is something stupid in the teens, you'll be fine...
17x8 +45 with 215/50/17 don't rub at all. Fenders aren't even rolled. When the suspension is compressed, there is like 2 or 3mm of clearance from the inner fender lip I think.
Those will be just fine, they will make your car sit a bit lower and the profile will be slightly smaller. IMO 225/45/17 the way to go. More wide = better grip on corners. Not to mention you will be running 8" wide wheels, 215's will stretch.
Here's a hint on what is going on the Galant.

Now it just needs a drop, but that's going to wait until next year.
nice, love the color
This is coming along really nicely, dude!
Looks good! just needs a drop
That's looking really good. are you coming to the cookout on Sunday?
mad props man. looks dope. hopefully i'll pull mine out of this pos stage it's in. paint exhaust n egr visor to start
Looks like you went with the 225's. Yey or nay? Looks really good.
So I was wondering how hard would it be to install a diamanté intake manifold, or is it even worth since it's daily driven?
Looks good
The Diamante mani isn't that bad to do. The one I did last week took a few hours and that was because I re-routed the whole vacuum setup from scratch.
Might be something I'll do in the future, but the next thing I'm going to do is drop it. I drive the Galant to school everyday and there's some big potholes here in Iowa. I want something that will make the front gap lower or make it even with the back and I don't want to be scraping my bumper every time I enter the driveway. Any suggestions?
oh yea i have a suggestion for you lol
ride looks good man
