hey guys, my time n/a was 16.9, i havnt run mine since my e2 conversion, atm im runin 176kw @ 5000rpm on 9psi @ the front wheels(we droped boost, n a mild tune 2 be safe) which with good traction should be good for a hi 13, just w8n on parts 2 come from japan and then off 2 be maped on the dyno agn
Well I went to E-town this weekend and made 3 runs. Should have pics and a short video in the next few days.
New best is 15.3 @ 89.6mph
Pretty sure I could have ran a high 14 if I had remembered to turn off the O/D and taken out my spare and luggage, but I'm happy in shaving more than 2.5 seconds.
I'll post more details once I have the slips and pics and stuff.
i bet if you got rid of that automatic you'd be into the high 13s, depending on how much boost your running.Quote:

Also... forgot to mention that this was at 6-7psi with spikes to 9psi between the auto-shifts.
while the shaving of 2.5 seconds is impressive, i have a v6 galant that could potentially run an identical time with very simple mods. i have intake and custom 2.5 inch catback exhaust, and i know someone on this site with their cali spec v6 ran a 15.67 at like 89 mph, and i have a fed spec not cali spec which could mean i could shave another .1 or .2 off of that time. i guess what im trying to say is i feel good that just because a car is turboed doesnt automatically doom me. i actually raced a civic from my school today that was turboed and beat it by half a car, he said he was having some tuning issues but hey whatever. im too lazy to make a new post in war stories.
haha... i seriously think that you've got a freak of nature from the factory... kinda like some 5-speed 7g's (used to have one  ) seriously though brandon's car n/a ran 18's while there are other members who are stock who are running low 15's.. every car is different.... once he get's his tranny rebuilt, I think we're gonna be seeing some really nice times... b/c dsm trannies suck :xQuote:

keep in mind, the auto 7Gs are shit, and the turbo was only at 7psi. if you want a run for your money, come on over here 8) i destroy V6 8Gs....just ask jet black https://www.thegalantcenter.org/styl...ult/tongue.gifQuote:

What's even more impressive is how much less money I spent on my 4 cylinder to be as fast as your 6. :wink:Quote:

i actually had every intention on getting an I4 when purchasing my galant, but they had this silver LS v6 there, a 2001 with very low miles (21k) so i just asked how much they wanted, they said 11500 i talked them down to 10500 and felt it was worth it to go for the v6. and to respond to something hogson said, i do have a freak of nature v6. i raced vtec killer (brian) from galant forums, hes the guy who did the first 5 speed swap on his I4, and claimed the swap alone meant he cud take a stock or slightly modded v6. well i beat him by 3 car lengths average every time, and he then accused me of having nitrous cuz i chirped 2nd gear each time. no nitrous here tho, although a 75 shot is on the way cuz the money in my sds fund just got spent on something else, and ill announce it here for the first time, 1991 galant vr4 with 171k miles, running. my new project https://www.thegalantcenter.org/styl...lt/biggrin.gifQuote:

yah, but those ARE the fastest galants. notice how the list STARTS at the high 14's. the fastest one(dale nardozzi) is WITHOUT nitrous. also, there are several in the 12's with a 14b. you dont need a big turbo to go fast. recently, the #2 car went 138, but still did not beat dale's time. dale has since sold the car, and has moved on-i think toyota mr2. the ams car has also been sold, they are now deep into the evo's.
Yes I know those are the fastest Galant. But nobody there posts here. I just want to see what we run. Sure we will never run a 10s 1/4 but we also lack the pleasure of AWD https://www.thegalantcenter.org/styl...ult/tongue.gif

okey dokey. i didnt know if you knew about that list. and, you are right, probably none of them post here. also, not on that list are several very fast vr4's who are in to road racing, and a couple of them still rallying the car. very impressive to see the fastest car had no nitrous.
btw, this was just posted on the vr4 board. 12.58@ 109.42, with the stock 14b turbo, NO nitrous. his time slip is also posted. see the car:
http://www.cardomain.com/id/sleepyvr4
more proof that you dont need big turbos to go fast.
*Pops head in*
It's so good to see this site still going. It's been some years now.
About one year away from the galant and any galant site, 75,500 posts missed, and seeing that seth and brandon have both gone FI (omg! lol) in their 7g's makes me wonder why I ever retired my galant.
My old time in my first n/a modified mitsu was a 13.8 if i recall correctly, don't remember the mph...I could dig it up but 13's really do not phase me when I've been used to 10.5's in my gtvr4 for the past 7 months. I had run a 13.52 @107mph with my "current" 5spd galant and was planning to tune better to run lower times but 2 destroyed heads, a total of $4,500 worth of damage all around the engine bay, and a blown to shit clutch forced me to set aside this 4 door POS for something easier/cheap to modify. So anyways, for those of you that remember me...or care, an accident w/ my gt has left me with this 4 cyl staring at me in the face again.I should be back for good now...rebuilding the whole galant yet again for one last run. For some damn reason, I can't come back to this site w/o being enticed to spend a shitload of money/time trying this one more time. Eh.
I took a quick look around the performance 7g section, I see a lot of cam/na threads.... If anyone has any n/a questions regarding the 64 motor or anything related to the 64 platform...shoot me a pm, I'm quite knowledgeable/experienced.
 holy crap man, I was just talking about you, haha... Sorry to hear about your 3000gt, but welcome back man... time to show some foo's what a 64 can do :twisted:Quote:

Yeah man def i have been in the dsm game since the early 90's i know how to make anything with a 4g63 fast the slowest dsm i have ever owner ran a 13.9 it was a N/a 94 talon fastest being a 9.89 that was a 90 tsi awd with a 2.4 ffwd connection stroker xp and a gt30r6r blower. any questions i would be glad to answer vr4's are fun little cars you would never expect one to hand you your a$$ the looks of the suckers i blow by alone are worth every cent.
