Okay so im going to begin the wiring to the evo 8 ecu and I had a question. Im going to take the plugs out one by one and just plug them right back in to its right position instead of cutting and stuff. Question is what did you guys use to pop the plugs out?
I used a safety pin when swapping pin for my 6 bolt swap in the 7g..
Good idea! Anyone else use something different and seemed to work fine?
what about an actual pin itself, from the ecu
Tiny ass flat head.
This shits a pain in the ass. Anyone know exactly which tool i need to put new pins at the end of the wires to plug in to the ecu? Im just going to cut the wire before the plug and do it this way
Got a pin out then went to plug it into the evos plug. The galants pins seem to be alittle smaller then the evos. Guess I gotta do every plug anyways
Anyone that did the evo 8 ecu swap.. If you just took the pins right out of are plugs Did it plug right back into the evos plug? Just wanna make sure.
There is a specific crimping tool to do that. Im not sure where you can get them aside from ebay, I would email Rywire or Chase Bays or one of them honda wiring dudes, they could tell you where to get it from.
^ Just ordered this W crimper http://www.034motorsport.com/034efi-...mper-p-72.html.. Do you think this might work?
Your gonna want something like this.....

The trick is getting the right die set. The die that goes into the crimper can be interchanged on certain model crimpers. Do a search on evom or dsm tuners, someone there has to have done this before.
^ Okay understood. Ill check out some more.. Do you have to put a drop of solder on each pin after being crimped or should it be fine?
Hey Gtorque, did u ever repair that damaged JDM Rear u bought from me? If so got pix?
^ I havent been able to work on it at all.. Ive been so busy working and im in the middle of moving right now. All the extra time I have I work under my engine bay trying to get everything done little by little. Once I do the ecu then get it fired up and a good little tune with no problems im going to start working on that rear bumper and get everything ready for paint ;)
^ Sounds good, get that baby up and running with some vids :)
^ But of course ;) lol
Okay so ive been doing little things that way im closer on my way to getting this baby started. Lets start off with the pulleys etc. I have the Fluidamper for the evo so as you probably know I had to get all the other pulleys to match and line up. First off I got the alternator pulley from the evo.
