I'll keep that in mind. Although that section has a bit of rust on my car it seemed structurally sound. I'll make sure of it before the por is applied for good measure.

You should be able to see it pretty well when you wire wheel the paint and rust away. Look on the inside of the wheel well and if its bubbled the coating on the inside. That is how I discovered how bad mine was.
Thanks for the tip. I'll remember that next time I'm working in the garage.
Came home from work yesterday to see these had arrived.

Is that the 3g steering wheel?

^^Yes it is
440 wrx injectors? Did you buy 8 of them? That's what I did with the evo 560's. No one wanted to sell 2, I can see why though lol.
I was lucky enough to buy 2 of them separately from somebody who had to buy 8 to get the 6 he needed. After that, I bought the typical set of 4.
Holy shit. That's a gory interior. I'd go crosseyed trying to figure that out.
I still really want to do that swap. Looks very nice.

This is about to get interesting with some cammed v6 power ;)
Which cams did you decide to use!? I'm searching around a bit and ofcourse RPW's stage 2 and HKS spec 272/300 stands out...
I was planning to use 6g75 galant cams / rockers if I don't go the RPW route.
You can't put 75 rockers into 74/72 heads...
The parts will be unveiled as installed. Hopefully sooner than later. It's just a matter of keeping my motivation level up.
MOTIVATION? I'm sorry, Mr. Handicapped Man. Do you understand sign language? Can you read lips? Well if you don't get your sally ass out in that garage, I'm gonna put my foot in your ass, is that clear dummy?
Clear as mud. In fact, once I'm done eating, the garage is where I'm headed.
Thanks for the heads up lol. It would be $ if I found a 6g75 galant in the yard; had a few 4g69's come through already. I don't need to pay that ebay premium lol!
Too late to subscribe? lolz. Just watch BJ's 6g74 video with that magnaflow mid muffler on the dyno. The sound alone is inspirational to v6 building.
What video was that?

The projected end result is enough motivation, but things are slowing down a little bit here while knee-deep in the middle of it.
Now you have to go to boost for boobies. Seeing some other cars that are done and obtaining glory will motivate you. At least, it motivates me... Ahoohoohoo.
Motivate your face.

Back to work.
First coat has been laid down. Another coat is in order, most likely tonight. Then I can move things out of the way to allow the front left corner of the bay to be painted.

Up close preview. Still one coat remaining for this area.

These showed up today as well. The only hold up is Megan Racing. Replacement camber plates are 4-6 weeks out.

I have to ask, are you keeping the bay black?
Yes I am.
Why did you have to remove the radiator support?
I love you, Matt.
It was slightly damaged in my accident back in '07, so the heads, grille, and bumper never quite lined up like they should have after that. It became even more evident when I installed the JDM front end, so I figured now would be the best time to finally replace it.
Yep, might as well while you have everything out. When your rad support comes in, put a coat of paint on the under\inner side of it. It will last a lot longer rust wise that way.
Did you have kyb's before? What was your suspension setup previously?
I previously had gr-2's and s-techs. They will be going on the Eclipse. Maybe even tomorrow depending on how much free time I have.
A little update here.
The bay is fully painted now. The Walbro 255 is installed.
I also received a picture of my heads last night, thanks to silvertune. Ported, cleaned up, and valves are in. Things are once again in motion to get this thing running before long.

Looking good! I thought you had dohc setup for some reason..
I've kicked around the idea of DOHC V6 for awhile when I was wanting to twin turbo. That was before reality kicked in, but if I ever threw everything off the deep end and went for it, it would be very possible. Silvertune and I went through a few donor vehicles and have every detail of a DOHC swap ironed out, just in case.
can't wait until this beast is running again
Unfortunately there never were any here. The closest you'll get is a 4g Eclipse. 75 mivec with the 6-speed.
Very nice! Those heads look pretty!
Silvertuner does great work :)
Indeed.
Here is a more recent picture of the heads. Now with valve springs installed.

The engine torn down as far as necessary. Just about ready for the soon to be assembled heads.

And the rest of the car in it's current state.
